Happy Friday enthusiasts! This week was the first Sonoma Night Market and I found some beautiful fennel! Obviously I had to buy some and felt it was the perfect time to make the Ultimate Lamb Burger! Lamb and feta are one of my favorite combos! For this burger I made a spicy herbed whippped feta spread and I caramelized fennel and onions to round out the flavors 🤤 Caramelized onions and fennel take a little longer than just sautéing them because you want them to break down till they are almost sticking like caramel but it is so worth the extra effort!

Happy Saturday Enthusiasts! Today was #Act2 of wine tasting outside of Nape/Sonoma! Today was an area with a special place in my heart Santa Clara County’s very own #winetrail in Gilroy ❤️ I grew up in #southbay and my parents used to take us to Gilroy all the time with them and my dad will always rave about how amazing it is! Today I wanted to try a few newer wineries that are not even 10 years old but making a strong name for themselves! @calerrain_wines and @lion_ranch were both amazing in their own way! Lion Ranch specializes in Rhône varietals and their whites are particularly exceptional! My favorite was the Cuve Blanc ❤️ Calerrian prides itself in showcasing varietals from all over Santa Clara and Monterey County including a to die for Albariño and lucious Santa Cruz Pinot Noir 🤤 Santa Clara is more than Silicon Valley and these wineries deserve just as much of your attention as Napa and Sonoma! Wineries 2 and 3 were actually sister wineries! @cowgirlwinery and @georiswinery in Carmel Valley were great if you’re like me and missed the super casual tastings that didn’t have to take 1+ hours 🙌 Cowgirls wines were very approachable and drink worthy now where as Georis was more of that classic French style with less obvious fruit undertones, more florals and minerality, and I would love to try the newest releases in a few years when the acidity has mellowed. I ended up leaving with a rosé from each because I’m stocking up on roses for a taste off durring summer and I was particularly fond of the Rosé of Can Franc ❤️ #theunpretentiouswineenthusiast #carmelvalleywineries #lifeintheindustry

#happyfriday Enthusiasts! Ok I thought today we could take a little trip outside of Napa/Sonoma county and go to my original stomping grounds of Santa Cruz/Monterey/Carmel valley! Today is Carmel Valley and a cute relatively newer winery called @folktalewinery ❤️ Can I just say the ambiance alone this place is amazing! But, then you add their approachable and refreshing wines and it’s a hit! Started with my favorite a sparkling rose and ended with their Joseph’s Blend 2018 , which is a GSM that was light and ready to drink with or without food 🤤I’ll be leaving with a couple bottles that aren’t in a flight so I can try them at home like “The Child” which is their take on Vino Verde, Carbonic Sangiovese, and The Lion For Real! BONUS! They serve food and Cheese Board looked amazing 🤤Take a chance on Carmel Valley anyone who is a #napasnob because it won’t disappoint! #theunpretentiouswineenthusiast #carmelvalley #winetasting #california #trysomethingnewtoday
