Christmas in NOLA

Happy holidays! I’m so happy to do another year of 12 Days of Christmas Cocktails! This year we are starting with a variation of a White Russian but using St. George’s NOLA Coffe Liqueur, which is made with chicory, and Hanson Distillery’s Meyer Lemon Vodka. I’m sure the Meyer lemon part must be confusing but this is a very subtle flavor that adds so much to the cocktail! You will also be using a holiday spiced soft cream instead of the standard plain heavy cream. I hope you enjoy!


-1.5oz St. George’s NOLA Coffee Liqueur

-1.5oz Hansons Distillery Meyer Lemon Vodka

-0.5oz Espresso Simple Syrup

-2oz Holiday Spice Soft Cream (more if desired)

-Garnish: Cinnamon Stick

Using a cocktail shaker add the coffee liqueur, vodka, and espresso simple syrup. Add ice and shake vigorously for 10 seconds. Fill a lowball/old fashioned glass with ice and strain cocktail over the top. Gently spoon you soft cream over the top to creat the distinct layers. Garnish with a cinnamon stick and enjoy! 

Notes: Make the simple syrup and holiday soft cream in advance to make preparing the cocktail more easy when you are ready. They can be stored easily in the fridge. If you can’t find the Meyer lemon vodka regular vodka will also work the Meyer lemon just adds a layer of complexity. I learned this while in Italy at the coast when lemon peel was added to my espresso.
