It’s the most wonderful time of the year! Christmas! Actually many amazing holidays happen this time of the year which I think is what truly makes it wonderful! This time of year for me holds so many memories: cutting down our Christmas tree, my mother’s annual cookie exchange party, my brother, sister, and I watching The Grinch and drinking hot chocolate. Some things are still the same except now we drink coffee and watch It’s a Wonderful Life! LOL
This next cocktail, named after a classic movie, kicks off my 12 Days of Christmas Cocktails!. Coffee brings the bitterness of the Great Depression, macadamia nut liqueur delivers sweetness, cognac provides warmth, and cream binds everything together for a wonderful finish. Enjoy!
1oz Sailor Jerry Spiced Rum
1oz Macadamia Nut Liqueur (i.e. Kahana or Trader Vic’s)
1oz Brewed Coffee; chilled
1oz Heavy Cream
Nutmeg and Cinnamon
Pour ice in to a cocktail shaker and add all the ingredients plus a couple shakes of nutmeg and cinnamon. Shake vigorously for 10 seconds. Pour in to a chilled coupe glass and garnish with some more nutmeg. Enjoy!
Notes: But why is the rum gone!? Out of rum? Or just not a fan of rum? No problem! Make a simple switch to your favorite whisky.
